Telangana reports 2,123 fresh COVID-19 cases; Death toll at 1,025

Telangana reported 2,123 new cases along with 9 new fatalities in the last 24 hours, taking the state’s total caseload to over 1.69 lakh cases.


Telangana reported 2,123 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, taking the tally to 1,69,169 while nine more deaths pushed the toll to 1,025.

According to the government bulletin, providing data as of 8 PM on September 18, Out of the 2,123 fresh cases, 305 were reported from the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC), followed by Rangareddy (185), Medchal Malkajgiri (149), Nalgonda (135), Karimnagar (112) and other districts.

The cumulative recovered cases stood at 1,37,508, while 30,636 were under treatment.

As per the report,  54,459 samples were tested on September 18. Cumulatively, the number of samples tested stood at 24,34,409.

The case fatality rate in the state was 0.60 per cent, while it was 1.61 per cent at the national level. The recovery rate in the state rose to 81.28 per cent, while it was 79.26 per cent in the country.

With an increase of 93,337 COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, the coronavirus count in India has crossed 53 lakhs mark.

In the past 24 hours, India has recorded 93,337 coronavirus cases, taking its total count to  53,08,015.

Meanwhile 1,247 patients succumbed to the deadly contagious disease, taking the fatalities count to 85,619. 

According to the data provided by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the total number of active cases in the country is 10,13,964. Meanwhile 42,08,432 persons have been cured/discharged/migrated.
