Telangana reports 2,734 new COVID-19 cases in last 24 hours

Telangana reported 2,734 new COVID-19 cases in last 24 hours, taking the total number of positive cases in the state to 1,27,697, the state's health department said on Tuesday.


Meanwhile, with 9 new deaths due to the virus, the toll has reached 836.

The total active cases as on Monday night in the State was 31,699. A total of 2,325 persons recovered by Monday, taking the overall Covid-19 recoveries in the State to 95,162 with a recovery rate of 74.5 per cent while the countrywide recovery rate is at 76.94 per cent.

Between Sunday and Monday, the health authorities conducted 58,264 Covid tests in the State while reports of another 878 samples are awaited. 

As many as 24,598 patients were under home isolation across the State while 7,101 positive cases are in institutional care.

Meanwhile, with an increase of 69,921 COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, the coronavirus count in India has reached 36,91,167 on Tuesday.  

According to the data provided by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, 819 patients succumbed to the deadly contagious disease in the last 24 hours, taking the fatalities count to 65,288.

According to the data, the total number of active cases in the country is 7,85,996. Meanwhile,  28,39,883 persons have been cured/discharged/migrated.
