Telangana reports 2,932 new COVID-19 cases in last 24 hours

Telangana reported 2,932 new COVID-19 cases in last 24 hours, taking the total number of positive cases in the state to 11,17,415, the state's health department said on Friday.

 

Meanwhile, with 11 new deaths due to the virus, the toll has reached 799.

The total number of cases include 28,941 active cases, 87,675 recoveries, the Health Department said.

As many as 22,097 people are currently under home/institutional isolation in the state. 

Out of the 2,932 fresh cases, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) reported 520, followed by Rangareddy (218), Medchal Malkajgiri (218), Karimnagar (168), Nalgonda (159), Khammam (141), Jagityal (113), Mancherial (110), Suryapet (102) and Siddipet (100) districts.

The number of samples tested in the state, cumulatively crossed 12 lakh and stood at 12,04,343 with 61,863 samples tested on August 27.

The case fatality rate in the state was 0.68 per cent, while it was 1.83 per cent at the national level.

The recovery rate in the statewas 74.6 per cent, while it was 76.33 per cent in the country.

Meanwhile, with an increase of 77,266 COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, the coronavirus count in India has crossed 33.87 lakhs mark on Friday.

According to the data provided by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, India has recorded 77,266 coronavirus cases in the past 24 hours, taking its total to 33,87,501.

Meanwhile, 1,057 patients succumbed to the deadly contagious disease in the last 24 hours, taking the fatalities count to 61,529.

According to the data provided by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the total number of active cases in the country is 7,42,023. Meanwhile, 25,83,948 persons have been cured/discharged/migrated.
