Telangana reports 276 new COVID-19 cases, 1 death in last 24 hrs

The State Health Department in its Thursday bulletin said the total count of coronavirus cases in the state has increased to 2.91 including 2,84,849 discharges and 1,572 deaths. The active cases currently stand at 4,495.


Telangana recorded 276 new COVID-19 cases and one deaths, taking the total infection count to 2,90,916 and the toll to 1,572,the state government said on Thursday.

Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) accounted for the most number of cases with 53, followed by Rangareddy and Medchal Malkajgiri with 23 and 18 respectively, a government bulletin said on Thursday providing details as of 8 pm on January 13.

As many as 4,495 patients are under treatment. The total number of cases stood at 2,90,916 while recoveries were at 2,84,849.

As many as 28,894 samples were tested on Wednesday. Cumulatively, over 73.79 lakh samples have been tested. The samples tested per million population was over 1.98 lakh, the bulletin said.

The case fatality rate in the state was 0.54 per cent, while it was 1.4 per cent at the national level. The recovery rate in Telangana was 97.91 per cent, while it was 96.5 per cent in the country.

Meanwhile, With 16,946 new COVID-19 infections reported in the last 24 hours, COVID-19 case tally reached 1,05,12,093, said the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on Thursday.

Meanwhile, 198 patients succumbed to the deadly contagious disease, taking the fatalities count to 1,51,727.

According to the data provided by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the total number of active cases in the country  2,13,603. Meanwhile  1,01,46,763 have been cured/discharged/migrated.
