Telangana reports 351 new COVID-19 cases, 2 deaths in last 24 hours

The State Health Department in its Sunday bulletin said the total count of coronavirus cases in the state has increased to 2,89,784 including 2,83,463 discharges and 1,565 deaths. The active cases currently stand at 4,756.

Telangana recorded 351 new COVID-19 cases and two deaths, taking the total infection count to 2,89,784 and the toll to 1,565,the state government said on Sunday.

As per the health department bulletin, providing data as of 8 PM on January 9, a total of 4,756 patients were under treatment.

Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation accounted for the most number of fresh cases with 65, followed by Ranga Reddy 30 and Medchal Malkajgiri 28.

A total of 37,451 samples were tested on Saturday, taking the cumulative number of specimens examined so far to 72,53,236. The number of recoveries stood at 2,83,463.

The case fatality and recovery rates in the state stood at 0.54 per cent and 97.81 per cent respectively, compared to 1.4 per cent and 96.4 per cent at the national level.

With 18,645 new COVID-19 infections reported in the last 24 hours, COVID-19 case tally reached  1,04,50,284, said the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on Sunday.

Meanwhile, 201 patients succumbed to the deadly contagious disease, taking the fatalities count to 1,50,999.

According to the data provided by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the total number of active cases in the country  2,23,335. Meanwhile 1,00,75,950 have been cured/discharged/migrated.
