Telangana reports 574 new COVID-19 cases, 2 deaths in last 24 hrs

The State Health Department in its Thursday bulletin said the total count of coronavirus cases in the state has increased to 2,83,556 including 2,75,217 discharges and 1,524 deaths. The active cases currently stand at 6,815.


Telangana registered 574 fresh coronavirus cases, taking the tally to nearly 2.83 lakh while two more fatalities pushed the toll to 1,524.

With 574 new COVID-19 cases, the coronavirus tally in the state has gone up to 2,83,556.

Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) accounted for the most number of cases with 109, followed by Rangareddy 48 and Medchal Malkajgiri 42, a government bulletin said on Thursday providing details as of 8 pm on December 23.

As many as 384 people recovered from the decease on Wednesday. This took the number of recovered people so far in the state to 2,75,217.

The recovery rate in Telangana was 97.05 per cent, while it was 95.7 per cent in the country.

As many as 6,815 patients are under treatment and 44,516 samples were tested on Wednesday. Cumulatively, over 66.11 lakh samples have been tested.

The samples tested per million population was nearly 1.77 lakh. The case fatality rate in the state was 0.53 per cent, while it was 1.5 per cent at the national level.

Meanwhile, health authorities have been tracking about 1200 people who arrived from the UK after 9th of this month and their contacts in the state following the appearance of the new Corona Virus variant.

Meanwhile, with 24,712 new COVID-19 infections reported in the last 24 hours, COVID-19 case tally reached 1,01,23,778, said the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on Thursday.

The Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) said that India's total coronavirus cases surged 1,00,99,066.

Meanwhile, 312 patients succumbed to the deadly contagious disease, taking the fatalities count to 146,756.

According to the data provided by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the total number of active cases in the country 2,83,849. Meanwhile at 96,93,173 persons have been cured/discharged/migrated.
