Telangana reports 593 new COVID-19 cases, 3 deaths in last 24 hours

Telangana reported 593 fresh coronavirus cases, taking the tally to nearly 2.70 lakh while three fatalities pushed the toll to 1,458, the state government said on Monday.

Total cases in the state rise to 2,69,816 including 1,458 deaths and 2,58,336 recoveries. Active cases stand at 10,022

Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) accounted for the most number of cases with 119, followed by Rangareddy (61) and Medchal Malkajgiri (55), it said in a bulletin, providing details as of 8 PM on November 29.

As many as10,022 patients are under treatment and33,040 samples were tested on Sunday. Cumulatively, over 54.53 lakh samples have been tested.

As per the report, the samples tested per million population was over 1.46 lakh.  The case fatality rate in the state was 0.54 per cent, while it was 1.5 per cent at the national level.

Meanwhile, with 38,772  new COVID-19 infections reported in the last 24 hours, India's total coronavirus cases crossed 94-lakh mark.

The Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) on Monday said that India's total coronavirus cases surged to 94,31,692.

Meanwhile, 443 patients succumbed to the deadly contagious disease, taking the fatalities count to 1,37,139. 

According to the data provided by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the total number of active cases in the country is 4,46,952. Meanwhile at  88,47,600 persons have been cured/discharged/migrated.
