Telangana reports 922 new COVID-19 cases, 7 deaths in last 24 hours

Telangana registered 922 fresh coronavirus cases, taking the tally to 2.40 lakh while 7 more deaths pushed the toll to 1,348. 


Telangana reported 922 new COVID-19 cases, 7deaths, and 1,456 recoveries on Sunday, taking the total cases in the state to 2,40, 970, said the State Health Department on Monday.

The total number of COVID-19 cases in the state include 2,21,992 recoveries and 17,630 active cases. The death toll is at 1,348.

As many as 14,717 people are in-home or institutional isolation in Telangana currently. Meanwhile, 17,630 are under treatment.

Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) accounted for the most number of cases with 256, followed by Rangareddy (56) and Sangareddy (44) districts, it said in a bulletin, providing data as of 8 PM on November 1.

According to the bulletin, 25,643 samples were tested on November 1. Cumulatively,43,49,309 samples have been tested. The samples tested per million population was 1,16,854, the bulletin said.

The case fatality rate in the state was 0.55 per cent, while it was 1.5 per cent at the national level. The recovery rate in Telangana was 92.12 per cent, while it was 91.6 per cent in the country

Meanwhile, with an increase of 45,230 COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, the coronavirus count in India has crossed 82- lakhs mark.

In the past 24 hours, India has 45,230 coronavirus cases, taking its total count 82,29,313.

Meanwhile, 496 patients succumbed to the deadly contagious disease, taking the fatalities count to 1,22,607. 

According to the data provided by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the total number of active cases in the country is 5,61,908. Meanwhile 75,44,798 persons have been cured/discharged/migrated.
