Telangana reports 993 new cases, 4 deaths in last 24 hours.


Telangana reported 993 new COVID-19 cases and 4 deaths on Tuesday, taking the total infection count to over 2.66 lakh 

Meanwhile, the toll touched 1,441 with four more deaths, according to a media bulletin released on Wednesday.

Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) accounted for the most number of cases with 161, followed by Medchal Malkajgiri 93 and Bhadradri Kothagudem 67, a government bulletin said on Wednesday providing details as of 8 pm on November 24.

According to the report, as many as10,886 patients are under treatment and 47,593 samples were tested on Tuesday.

Cumulatively, over 52.48 lakh samples have been tested. The samples tested per million population was over 1.41 lakh.

The case fatality rate in the state was 0.54 per cent, while it was 1.5 per cent at the national level.

The recovery rate in Telangana was 95.36 per cent, while it was 93.7 per cent in the country.

Meanwhile, with 44,376 new COVID-19 infections reported in the last 24 hours, India's total coronavirus cases crossed 92 -lakh mark.

The Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) on Wednesday said that India's total coronavirus cases surged to 92,22,217.

Meanwhile, 481 patients succumbed to the deadly contagious disease, taking the fatalities count to 1,34,699. 

According to the data provided by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the total number of active cases in the country is 4,44,746. Meanwhile at  86,42,771 persons have been cured/discharged/migrated.
