Third coronavirus death in India , 64-year-old patient dies in Mumbai

MUMBAI: A 64-year-old coronavirus patient died Mumbai’s Kasturba hospital on Tuesday.

 

As per the report, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation is expected to issue a formal statement on the death soon.

This is Maharashtra’s first coronavirus death. Earlier, one 76-year-old man had died in Karnataka's Kalaburagi district. Later, a 68-year-old woman had passed away in Delhi.

Karnataka had reported its first death due to coronavirus. A 76-year-old man from Kalaburagi who had recently returned from Saudi Arabia. He had tested positive to Covid-19.

After that, a 68-year-old woman in Delhi, who had tested positive for coronavirus, died due to co-morbidity, diabetics and hypertension at the Ram Manohar Lohia (RML) Hospital on Friday night..

The World Health Organization (WHO) on Tuesday said that nearly 14,000 people were infected with the novel coronavirus globally over the past day, bringing the total number of confirmed cases above 167,500. 

India has also started evacuating its citizens from other countries after the World Health Organization declared the coronavirus outbreak a pandemic and said that Europe is the new epicentre of the lethal virus.

As per the WHO reports, a total of 167,511 cases have been confirmed worldwide, with 13,903 new ones over the past 24 hours. At the same time, the global death toll rose by 862 to 6,606. 

Cases of the virus, which originated in the Chinese city of Wuhan, has been reported in over 130 countries, including India, where over 110 people have been infected.
