As her condition didn’t improve, she was referred to CMC Hospital where she tested positive for Covid-19 on April 14.

Three of her family members, including her husband, daughter and four-year-old granddaughter tested positive for Covid-19 on Thursday. They too are undergoing treatment CMC Hospital.

Officials sealed Indira Nursing Home on Thursday. Madhani Clinic, and the private diagnostics lab were sealed on Friday. Indira Nursing Home’s main branch, located at Saidapet in Vellore, was partially sealed on Friday morning since some doctors from here work in the Konavattam clinic too.

“The main reason of sealing these premises is to prevent further spread of Covid-19,” said health officer T Manivannan. All the four buildings have been disinfected and healthcare workers, including the doctors, have been quarantined. They will be subjected to Covid-19 screening, the TOI report said.

It was not clear from where the woman contracted Covid-19. The woman’s husband, who was tested positive for Covid-19, runs a wholesale shop in Nethaji Market in Vellore city. A special medical camp has been organised in the market as well as at Konavattam Government School to screen the family’s close contacts (with inputs from Times of India).
