With 1,273 new cases, Telangana's COVID-19 tally reaches 2.30 lakh mark

Telangana registered 1,273 fresh coronavirus cases, taking the tally to 2.30 lakh while 5 more deaths pushed the toll to 1,303. 

 

Telangana recorded 1,273 new coronavirus positive cases taking the overall tally to 2,30,274.

With the recovery of 1,708 persons in the last 24 hours, the overall recovery count went up to 2,09,034. The fatalities touched 1,303 with five new deaths due to virus on Friday.

At present, there are19,937 active cases out of which 16,809 are in home/institutional isolation.

Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) accounted for the most number of cases with 227, followed by Medchal Malkajgiri 104 and Rangareddy 102 districts, a government bulletin said on Saturday providing data as of 8 PM on October 23.

As many as 19,937 are under treatment and 35,280 samples were tested on October 23. Cumulatively, 40.52 lakh samples have been tested. The samples tested per million population was 1.08 lakh.

According to the bulletin, the case fatality rate in the state was 0.56 per cent, while it was 1.5 per cent at the national level. The recovery rate in Telangana was 90.77 per cent, while it was 89.7 per cent in the country.

Meanwhile, with an increase of 53,370 COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, the coronavirus count in India has crossed 78- lakhs mark. 

In the past 24 hours, India has 53,370 coronavirus cases, taking its total count 78,14,682.

Meanwhile, 650  patients succumbed to the deadly contagious disease, taking the fatalities count to 1,17,956. 

According to the data provided by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the total number of active cases in the country is 6,80,680. Meanwhile 70,16,046 persons have been cured/discharged/migrated.
