With 41,322 new cases, India's COVID-19 tally crosses 93.51-lakh mark


This is the 21st consecutive day when India reported less than 50,000 cases in a day. The last time daily new cases crossed the 50,000-threshold was on November 7.


With 41,322 new COVID-19 infections reported in the last 24 hours, India's total coronavirus cases crossed 93.51 -lakh mark.

The Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) on Saturday said that India's total coronavirus cases surged to 93,51,110.

Meanwhile, 485 patients succumbed to the deadly contagious disease, taking the fatalities count to 1,36,200. 

According to the data provided by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the total number of active cases in the country is 4,54,940. Meanwhile at   87,59,969 persons have been cured/discharged/migrated.

Maharashtra continued to be the worst affected state in the country with 6,185 new COVID-19 cases, 4,089 recoveries, and 85 deaths on Friday. The total number of cases in the state now stands at 18,08,550, including 87,969 active cases and 46,898 deaths.

Kerala reported about 3,966 new Covid-19 cases and 4,544 recoveries, tasking the total active cases to 63,885.

According to the Indian Council of Medical Research, with 11,57,605 samples tested in the last 24 hours, the total number of samples tested reached 13,82,20,354.

Coronavirus, which originated in China's Wuhan city in December last year, has so far spread to more than 200 countries. The World Health Organisation (WHO) has declared coronavirus a pandemic.
