With 44,489 new cases, India’s COVID-19 tally crosses 92.66-lakh mark

This is the 19th   consecutive day when India reported less than 50,000 cases in a day. The last time daily new cases crossed the 50,000-threshold was on November 7.

 

With 44,489 new COVID-19 infections reported in the last 24 hours, India's total coronavirus cases crossed 92.66 -lakh mark.

The Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) on Thursday said that India's total coronavirus cases surged to 92,66,706.

Meanwhile, 524 patients succumbed to the deadly contagious disease, taking the fatalities count to 1,35,223. 

According to the data provided by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the total number of active cases in the country is 4,52,344 . Meanwhile at  86,79,138 persons have been cured/discharged/migrated.

Maharashtra continued to be the worst affected state with 85,488 active cases followed by Kerala (65,234) and Delhi (38,287).

According to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), a total of 13,59,31,545 samples have been tested up to November 25 and 10,90,238 samples were tested yesterday.

Coronavirus, which originated in China's Wuhan city in December last year, has so far spread to more than 200 countries. The World Health Organisation (WHO) has declared coronavirus a pandemic.
