Young farmer crushed under truck for opposing to transport sand from his agri land in Telangana

The victim, 35-year-old Kadi Narasimhlu, was trying to stop the sand smugglers from transporting sand in a truck from his field

A young farmer was allegedly crushed under a truck when he opposed the move to collect and transport sand from his agriculture land at Tirumalapur village in Mahabubnagar district of Telangana late on Wednesday night.

The victim has been identified as 35-year-old Kadi Narasimhlu, who tried to stop the sand smugglers while they were trying to transport sand in a truck from his field, the accused allegedly drove the truck over him. Narasimhlu died on the spot, said a report in The New Indian Express.

Soon, villagers thronged the area and attacked the truck. The driver of the truck reportedly fled the spot soon after the incident.

Villagers staged a protest carrying the body of Narsimhula demanding financial support to his family and also sought action against the flourishing sand mafia in the area.

The area is reportedly dominated my sand mafia and despite several complaints by Narasimhlu, no action was taken to contain the illegal sand mining.

Last year also, a similar incident had taken place in the locality when people belonging to a sand mafia allegedly killed farmer while he opposed the move.
