AMARAVATHI: Andhra Pradesh Election Commission on Monday announced that it has decided not to allow the release Ram Gopal Varma's Telugu movie ‘Lakshmi's NTR’ till May 19.
The movie is based on the life of former Andhra Pradesh chief minister N T Rama Rao.
On April 30, the Election Commission directed filmmaker Ramgopal Varma not to release ‘Lakshmi's NTR’.
Earlier, the biopic was planned to be released on May 1.
Last month, ‘Lakshmi's NTR’ was released in theatres in Telangana. However, the Election Commission had refused to allow screening of the movie in Andhra Pradesh after some TDP functionaries approached it.
Elections to 175-member Assembly and 25 Lok Sabha seats in the state were held on April 11.
Voting for the 543 Lok Sabha seats is being held in seven phases: April 11, April 18, April 23, April 29, May 6, May 12 and May 19.
Result of the seven-phase general elections will be declared on May 23.
