VISAKHAPATNAM: The police have foiled a Maoist attack in the agency area of Andhra Pradesh’ Visakhapatnam district.
According to the report, police have managed to detect and remove landmines planted by the Maoists in the agency area.
“The police found four land mines, each weighing 10 kgs”, Attada Bapuji, Visakhapatnam district Superintendent of Police said.
“The land mines were placed near Tribal Girls Ashram School and planted on the Nurmati armed outpost road”, he added.
As per the report, the cops arrested two people related to this incident.
“The police identified the involvement of Pedabayalu area committee members of Maoist in this attempt and detained two suspected persons in this connection”, he said.
