THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Kerala Assembly on Tuesday witnessed major uproar and session washed out due to protest by the United Democratic Front (UDF).

As per the report, the speaker P. Sreeramakrishnan denied them permission to discuss CBI charge against sitting MLA TV Rajesh and CPM Kannur district secretary P Jayarajan related to the murder conspiracy case of a Muslim Youth League worker.

The speaker pointed out that the state government was not involved in this case and it is a case pending in the court.

He also added that the incident took place in 2012 and so it is not an urgent matter to be taken up in the House through an adjournment motion.

Meanwhile, opposition Leader Ramesh Chennithala pointed out that many instances that were raised in the House under Rule 50, including the solar and Suryanelli cases.

However, the speaker stood by his decision. Subsequently, the UDF legislators were moved to the front benches shouting slogans.

On Monday, the Central Bureau of Investigation had charged two Communist Party of India (Marxist) leaders for their alleged roles in the case related to the murder of Indian Muslim Youth League worker Ariyil Abdul Shukoor in 2012.

The CBI booked Kannur District Secretary P Jayarajan and Kallyiasseri MLA TV Rajesh for conspiracy and submitted the charge-sheet to the Thalassery District Sessions Court.

Jayarajan was the 32nd accused and Rajesh is the 33 rd accused in the case and the court will consider the case on February 14.

The Kerala High Court ordered a CBI investigation into the matter in June 2016 based on a plea filed by the victim's mother.

The High Court also observed that the state police was trying to save the duo.

22-year-old Abdul Shukoor was killed near Thaliparamba in Kannur district on February 20, 2012.

Earlier, Shukoor and a group of Muslim Youth League workers blocked the vehicle of P Jayarajan and TV Rajesh while travelling and attacked the duo. Later, Jayarajan and Rajesh were admitted at Taliparamba Cooperative Hospital.

As per the report from the investigating agency, Shukoor was murdered related to this incident, he was killed within hours of the attack on their vehicle.

A group of men chased and caught Shukoor and he was stabbed to death after an hour-long 'trial' in a paddy field as scores of people looked on.

According to the report, they were allegedly taking revenge on him saying he was among those who attacked the duo in Taliparamba.

According to the report from the investigating agency, P Jayarajan’s his room at the hospital where Jayarajan and Rajesh sought treatment soon after the attack on their car was the 'epicentre of conspiracy'.

They executed the murder with proper planning, identifying the target and concealing weapons after the mission which is contrary to the earlier police report.

The CBI has charged section 120 (b) IPC (read with 302 IPC, murder and conspiracy charges against the CPM leaders.

Earlier, P Jayarajan was arrested in August 2012 and remanded to custody for 14 days related to this case.

Meanwhile, the party has claimed the charges are part of a political agenda in view of the upcoming Lok Sabha polls.

According to the statement released by the party's Kannur district secretariat, the violence started after a group of Muslim League workers tried to murder the CPM leaders in Pattuvam panchayat during their visit. Unfortunately, Shukoor was killed in Kannapuram panchayat on the same day.

“The CBI move comes without new witnesses or pieces of evidence. In doing so, the central agency has supported a political game, and hopes that the people will realise it”, the statement added.
