World badminton champion PV Sindhu arrives in Kerala to attend honouring ceremony


THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: World badminton champion PV Sindhu arrived in Kerala to attend the honouring ceremony in the state capital hosted by the government.


As per the report, she had reached here around 9 pm on Tuesday from Hyderabad.

The state government will honour the sports star at an event organised in Jimmy George Stadium here on Wednesday evening.

Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan will award a cheque of Rs 10 lakh and memento to her at the function.

Today, she paid obeisance to Sree Padmanabhaswamy temple and Attukal temple.

Earlier, World badminton champion PV Sindhu had visited Kerala after winning silver in Olympics.

P V Sindhu became the first Indian to win badminton World Championships gold by beating Nozomi Okuhara of Japan.

Sindhu has also won Olympic silver in 2016 Rio Games, silver at Gold Coast Commonwealth Games, an Asian Games silver at Jakarta and the BWF World Tour Finals last year.
