TIRUMALA: Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on Monday visited the famous Lord Balaji temple along with his family members.
He was welcomed by Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam officials.
After Darshan, Vedic scholars blessed him with Vedhik chanting and gifted sacred clothing.
On Sunday, KCR took a special flight to Tirupati and reached Renigunta Airport around 4.30 pm. From there he proceeded directly to TTD Guest House in Tirumala and scheduled to visit the temple on Monday morning.
This is KCR’s maiden visit after becoming the CM of Telangana for the second time.
On December 7, last year, single-phase assembly elections were held in Telangana and the TRS supremo had won s massive victory in the elections, sworn in as the Chief Minister of Telangana for a second straight term.
TRS emerged victorious in the Telangana Assembly elections, bagging 88 seats out of a total of 119 seats.
Telangana caretaker Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao, commonly known as KCR, won the Gajwal constituency by over 50,000 votes.
His son KT Rama Rao also bagged the Sircilla seat with a margin of 89,909 and had taken charge as the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) working president on December 17, 2018.
In the Lok Sabha polls, TRS had won nine parliamentary seats in Telangana. Meanwhile, BJP won Four, Congress won three and the AIMIM won the seat.
The Lok Sabha polls commence on April 11 and completed on May 19.
Voting for the 542 Lok Sabha seats were held in seven phases: April 11, April 18, April 23, April 29, May 6, May 12 and May 19.
