GUWAHATI: India have won the first match of the five-match one-day international Cricket series against the West Indies by eight wickets in Guwahati.


India was Chasing a target of 323 runs and made 326 in 42.1 overs, losing two wickets. They take a 1-0 lead in the five-match ODI series. The second match will be played in Visakhapatnam on the 24th of this month.

Rohit Sharma made a superb 152 off 117 balls with 15 fours and eight sixes and remained not out. It was Rohit’s 20th ODI hundred. Captain Virat Kohli who made 140 off 107 balls was declared Man of the Match.

West Indies scored 322 runs in the stipulated 50 overs, losing eight wickets. Shimron Hetmyer scored a fine 106 off 78 balls.
